Cinefest Ticket offer

On Thurs 22 September we are taking new Film Production Students to Bristol for a day of amazing workshops and sessions at Cinefest http://cinefest.co.uk/

This is an opportunity to meet some extremely successful cinematographers.

The coach will leave from St Johns campus SU bus stop at 8.00am on Thursday 22 September.

10.00 – 12.00

MASTERCLASS: Roberto Schaefer ASC

An in-depth lighting masterclass with globally respected DoP Roberto Schaefer (Miles Ahead, Quantum of Solace, Monster’s Ball) delivered live in our purpose-built set.

12.15 – 13.15

WORKSHOP: ACES with Geoff Boyle FBKS

A session exploring the functions and applications of Academy Colour Encoding System (ACES) with Geoff Boyle.

13.30 – 14.30

IN DISCUSSION: Chris Menges BSC

In depth lighting case study with Chris Menges demonstrating his use of illumination.

15.00 – 16.00

PANEL: Women in Cinematography

A discussion of work by women behind the camera. With DoPs Rina Yang, Caroline Bridges, Mary Farbrother, (Illuminatrix), and Lulu Elliott (Reel Angels) and chaired by CineFest Producer, Sarah Sparke.

16.30 – 17.30

CASE STUDY: Roberto Schaefer ASC deconstructs ‘Miles Ahead’

Roberto Schaefer and award- winning journalist, David Heuring will discuss Roberto’s work on the recent film, ‘Miles Ahead’, an exploration of the life and music of Miles Davis.
