EIZO Award Film & Moving Image – brief & competition details

The Brief

We want you to explore this simple but expansive statement by choosing a singular idea or theme to inform a series of still images or a short moving image piece. Your theme could be physically, emotionally, psychologically, culturally or politically based – the choice is yours but make it interesting. We’ve listed a few below just to get you thinking:

  • Gender
  • Youth
  • Hope
  • Desperation
  • Privilege
  • Legacy
  • Conformity
  • Disruption
  • Desire
  • Instinct
  • Tribes
  • Beasts
  • Moments
  • Future
  • Dissonance
  • Battles

Be Original, be daring and push the limits of your theme. Your theme will likely have a literal definition but can be abstracted or subverted if you choose to look sideways. Look to innovate by exploring ideas and techniques within your chosen medium, it could be studio or location based photography, you are free to use any analogue or digital image making process to create your piece or you could combine the two.

There are no strict guidelines to adhere to here, it’s all about your uncensored and unbound creativity.
